3 Position Toggle Switches
12v illuminated toggle switch?
I bought a 12V toggle switch from radio shack for my current project. The project is a 12V 1A circuit with LEDs. The switch i selected (follow the link) is an automotive switch rated at 12V and 20A. It has 3 spades, a (+), ACC, and Ground. The switch disconnects the ACC when in the OFF position SO i know that part. But the illumination is run off the ground how do i wire that to work?
Do I just wire the + then wire the LED series from the ACC and then wire the ground back to the (-) kinda like the LEDs and Ground are in series?

documentation? you mean you actually FOUND documentation?
also…my power source is a 12V 1A AD/DC wall adapter with out a ground…so what do i do with the ground? Do i just connect it back to the negative?
You wire the + to your power source, ACC to the load you want to switch, and GND to ground. The illuminating LED is connected between + and GND, so it’s on whenever power is supplied to the switch.
If you want to use the illumination as an indicator of the switch state, you can connect the power to the ACC terminal and the load to +. This will turn the LED on when the load is on.
FWIW, the Rat Shack on-line documentation is lousy.
Edit: I meant lousy as in “non-existent”; it should at least include a schematic, though as an EE myself I could draw one for you. Yes, the negative should be connected to ground.
