Daiwa Electric Fishing Reels are made for both the American Market and the Japanese Domestic Market. The Japanese models are incredible, yet priced somewhat higher than the US model electric reels. The Japanese models will be noted as JDM models. The warranty work on them will be only honored by the Japanese branch of the company. However, we have never had a problem reported on any of the Japanese Versions of these. (Instructions in Japanese on JDM models and possible delay in ship time on certain models.
