Best Fishing Reel Deals
New St. Croix Mojo Bass Rod, need matching reel…?
So I saw a deal too good to pass up on a St. Croix Mojo Bass Rod (7′9″) and I bought it planning to use it on big freshwater game fish. (salmon, musky etc) Any suggestions on a baitcaster to go with this new rod? I’m looking for best bang for the buck though I’d be open to other suggestions. My other baitcaster is an Abu Garcia Revo SX-HS which I use for all purpose fishing. I was thinking maybe another Abu Garcia baitcaster? But I’m open to all suggestions. Thanks.
Another Revo would be nice, but they aren’t cheap! And although most Musky fishermen today are using smaller reels with Braid there are times when you need a 17-20 LB Mono line, (like when your fishing Topwater and Sub-surface lures). Even the largest Revo won’t be able to spool enough 17-20LB Mono.
You need a round style reel. Round style reels have larger spools allowing for heavier Mono line.
