Best Fishing Reel For Kids
fishing pole question?
hubby just bought me a shakespear rod and a closed reel. he said that he didn’t know about ‘zebco’ brand, and that a open face reel is better, the closed is for ‘kids’ but i am a ‘newbie’ at fishing. We recently moved to CO, so its limited in chosing a pole for a decent price. (walmart had the best selection under $50)
I think it’s great that your hubby got you a rod to help you get started in this sport. Now the closed face reel is one of the easiest reels to learn with, it’s not just for kids, it’s for beginners. It will help you learn how to cast and with a little practice, you’ll be casting like a pro in no time. Zebco is a solid brand that has been around for a long time and this rod should serve its purpose well.
The open face is a better reel that requires a little more dexterity, but it is easy to adapt to this type of rod & reel once you are familiar with the basics of casting. There are a lot of online tackle shops with a great selection of rods & reels that can be shipped to your door. Best of luck in your new sport!
