Coarse Fishing Reels

Hi i am a new coarse fishing starter what is the best rod and reel to start with.?

Rod… the usual recommended tool is a 12ft or13ft “Float” or “Match” rod, such as the SHAKESPEARE MACH1 Match (£34 for the 12ft, £40 for the 13ft)

At some point it can also be joined with a Leger / Feeder / Quiver rod for weight fishing, such as the Shakespeare OMNI X 9ft 6″ leger

For a reel, the SHAKESPEARE MACH1 (2409/035 model) looks a pretty good buy @ £26.50 – has 1x Shallow match spool (for float fishing with), and 1x regular spool (for legering with)

Though the MITCHELL Avocet II silver in 2000RD or 4000RD Match versions are supposed to be pretty good too
