common fishing reel problems
trout fishing rod question i need some help?

well i fish in the mountains of North Carolina for trout ive got a shakespeare cirrius rod combo but ive changed the openface reel to a shakespeare 1 ball bearing underspinning trigger reel and now ive been looking at kmart at this eagle claw rod the only problem is the featherlite is 6′6 and i can order one on cabelas a little shorter ive kinda fell in love with it because its so flemsby and you can tell what will touch it but if would be great to have some opinions im thinking about either doing the 5 foot or 5′6 but i would love some feedback thanks

My personal preference is to use a longer rod when circumstances allow. If you are fishing in heavily wooded or very tight areas a shorter rod has an advantage. If you can swing and cast with a 6′6″ rod I would say use it. If space is an issue the shorter rod would be best.
