Any opinions on the Daiwa Advantage?
Dont want to spend the money on a zillion so how does the advantage sound?
The advantage is actually a great reel for the price. I’ve used both the original HST and the HSTA. I liked both. I actually tuned the original a little more and it’s a great workhorse reel. It’s sturdy, the drag is reliable, the frame and internals have held up great. It’s been reliable with bigger fish (20lb+ striper), so I can’t complain.
It’s definitely worth the money. The zillion, however, is too. It’s a different class of reel, and it’s not going to disappoint. IF you had the money, I”d not hesitate and just go with the zillion. Since you don’t, the TDA is a really nice compromise between price and performance.
(The ported spool is actually pretty light and can cast lighter lures than expected.)
