Elec-tra-mate reel aids………?
What do you think of these things, personally i think they take all the fun out of big game fishing, the whole point in it is that YOU land the fish not the REEL (heres what i mean)

What i want to know is your opinions on this type of thing as cabelas puts it;
With the HS Series, you get the full enjoyment of fighting the fish and feeling the pull without the hard work and tiring effort of cranking.
Ive fished for big game all my life and never used on of these things, what do you think about them?
And i dont intend to fish with them either!
To a sport fisherman, the battle between man and fish is a personal one, and the fish always has the advantage, until landed. I have even lost a few out of the boat….I like to feel the entire battle, and pumping and reeling is part of that battle. “Winching” a fish to the boat is not my cup of tea, but I have been on head boats, where if you don’t bring your own equipment, you are stuck using the “electric reels”…..I like to catch the largest fish on the lightest tackle possible….If I fish for Red Drum, then I try to beach the fish quickly, with as little stress as possible, so it can be released…..But to me, I have no need for an electric reel, and use single action fly reels instead of automatic….The head boat captains say that the electric reels decrease the number of tangles, and are not as tiring as reeling a fish manually from 300 feet down……But I think I shall battle the fish one on one, and if the fish wins, then he deserved his freedom……
