Fishing Reel Information

Wondering if anyone knows what species of eel I caught in South Florida?

My buddy caught an eel while fishing in North Miami in a Kayak in brackish water. We were catching tarpon all day, and all of a sudden he reeled in what looked to be half barracuda and half eel. The teeth were huge and sharp, however the eel itself didn’t look anything like a moray. The head looked about the same as a barracuda’s head. It was a silver color with a thin body which seemed to be about 3 to 3.5 feet long. I searched the internet, and can’t find any place which has a picture of the eel we caught. Any information would be helpful…..

it sounds a lot like an “atlantic cutlassfish”or as we know them down here in texas”ribbonfish”not good for eating but are great baitfish for kingfish and maybe even tarpon.
