Fishing Reel With Line Indicator

Steelhead/Salmon and Big Browns?
Okay i have a question for ya. For a fishing tournament in Michigan you get the option of one pole, one reel and one line. I have my pole and reel figured already but can’t decide on the line. What do you think, floating or sinking. With sinking i can whip streamers around and get some descent drifts with nymphs, but with dry line i can also use an indicator to fish the hard stuff. Not to mention the fall hatch is a blast topwater. What would you take, sinking or dry if a tournament was on the line?
That’s a difficult situation, however out of the two i would have to go for a floater, because with a sinker you are limited to only a few fishing styles, as I’m sure your aware its totally possible to fish streamers with a floater, just increase the leader length and if rules allow add weight to the flies by either a lead under body, dumbbell eyes and also brass and tungsten beads.
So if it was me i would take the floater and a wide variety of long leaders in both co-polymer for dries and sub surface nymphs and fluorocarbon for any streamers that i decided to fish. One problem that i can see with using a floater is that if your fishing in strong winds and attempting to fish nymphs slowly controlling them will be hard.
