Fishing Reel Wraps

Braided fishing line. What is the key to keeping it from getting stuck on itself on the reel spool?

Is it mainly just for flipping? I dont think that it wraps over itself on the reel, I think it wedges in between the rest of the line. When I cast or pitch it hangs up just enough before it comes out to stop my cast short. I have been using the spiderwire braided 30lb on a accurist reel.
