Mtn Brook

What would you name my stream/creek/brook/small river in my virtual old west town?
oh heck can you also explain the difference in the afforementioned terms for running freshwater sources off the main tributary?
Just wanted suggestions.
The nearby Mtn range I call the Sentinel Mtns.
pretty sure I will use the Mad River… but TBO, I set myself up for that one, go fig…
want to see if I get any more suggestions. Heck, I also want to know why I am picturing HD winding a watch while sitting up on a ledge over a vast chasm…maybe that whole ‘time is a river thing’
oh now I am thinking of the lyrics to Metallica’s ‘The Small Hours…’ wow great song gtg to youtube now…
Mad River works, but you might also consider Loco Creek, since creeks are a bit more common in the West than out and out rivers. Loco Creek also fits the Spanish influence in much of the Old West since the Spanish and Mexicans were around in numbers before the English-speaking and other European groups. I would avoid a name like Rio Loco, since I think there really is such a river and it is somewhat well known.
Another Spanish possibility might be Rio Borracho, which translated means drunk river.
