Is quantum made by Shimano?

someone told me that
also wondering if the quality is as good looking at the quantum kinetic vs the shimano symetere or the quantum boca or catalyst vs the shimano saros
thanks but i was really focusing on the saros or symetre for shimano or the kinetic, boca or catalyst for quantum and the only reason i was looking at them was because my uncle has a kinetic and loves it and they have the magnetic system instead of springs and i am going to use it for mostly saltwater use

No, they are made by Zebco. The higher end Quantums are a fairly good product. But they are not near as good as the higher end Shimanos are.
