What are your trusted saltwater fishing reels and rods brands?
I have heard penn is good but also read bad reviews. Im looking to get insight from those who actually use and trust them to help me in my purchase, thanks.

Many names and i have only used an old ugly stick with shakespear reel, so any insight will be helpful.
Also what ” nationally local ” stores carry these brands. I would like to hold the rod for action and try the reel but dickssportinggoods and such usually carry ugly sticks and not much else. I dont want ugly stick. Thanks
Shimano makes really good product and for cheap. Also look at AVET for bait reels, PHENIX RODS for good fishing rods and MOJO RODS for lighter rods,
Most of all SEEKER they are hands down best rods and have life time warrenty!
