Three Position Toggle Switch
how to wire 12 volt motor?
looking for wiring digagram to wire up 12 volt reversible motor with one toggle switch I have a three position toggle switch .Need drawing from battery to motor.
To drive the motor the opposite direction, you reverse the polarity of power to the motor. You will need more than just a 2-position toggle switch. You will also need 4 relays to do this (the toggle switch will control the relays).
You will wire the relays to the motor in a fashion that 2 of them are energized at a time (2 to polarize the motor one way, then the other 2 to reverse the motor).
It will be nothing but hard and confusing to try to explain how to wire it. Send me a private message and I can email you a schematic of how to do it. The final product will be wired and act the exact same as an electric winch would.
